Quick History of the PPPL
2006 - The PPPL's first year. Ryan Lucia was named commissioner. "Original 10" join league. John Wildung, Ryan Lucia, Nick Horan, James Previte, Ed Silva, Jamie Broyles, John Landrebe, Seth Tondreault, Dave Lang and Nicky Danowitz. The draft was held in Cambridge (MA) at Ryan and John's apartment on Rindge Ave. John Wildung took Shaun Alexander with the first pick. League won by Seth Tondreault (LJ_Mothafucka).
2007 - Dave Lang (I got that Drank) & Nicky Danowitz (Gorrilla Nuts) were not invited back into the league and replaced by new owners Dave Macdonald (Macamania 1) & Pete Brennan (Chief Brody). The points system was changed from the 20yds/pt for running and catching to the now 10yds/pt. Passing yards also switched from 50yds/pt to 25yds/pt. Passing TD's went from 6pts to 4pts. The draft was held in Melrose (MA) at the Oak Grove Village in their media center. John Landrebe (Beef) took LaDainian Tomlinson with the first pick. The veto to end all vetoes happened during the season. (Reggie Wayne for Brandon Marshall & Laurence Maroney). Seth Tondreault set a league record with 9 consecutive loses. League won by James Previte (Umassholes).
2008 - Dave Macdonald (Macamania 1) was not invited back into the league and was replaced by new owner Mike Bernard (Gelgameks). Divisions were first introduced. The original PPPL cup was also first created for the championship winner. The league adopted the keeper format with a max of 3 keepers and 6 years. Interceptions were changed from -1 to -2. Peter Brennan took Marion Barber with the first pick. League was won by John Wildung (Old Man Gippa).
2009 - Seth Tondreault (Boss of the Loss) was not invited back into the league and was replaced by Christian Plant (D-Generates). Keeper day was created as a day to announce new contracts. Jamie Broyles took Randy Moss with the first pick. League was thought to have been won by Pete Brennan but a post finals stat change (116-115) swung the cup to John Landrebe (Here's the Beef).
2010 - Michael Bernard (Gelgameks) was not invited back into the league and was replaced by new owner Matthew Rogers (Pee Yo Pants) via new application process. New 3 year trial period was created for any new member where annual votes are taken. The PPPL website was created. The Pretty Pink Princess dress was also introduced to the league's worst record and was worn by John Wildung this year. The division names were changed to Spartans and Generals. This also led to a reformatting of teams in each division. The waiver wire system was also changed to a Sunday through Tuesday waiver wire pending system. Trading of keepers for picks is now allowed in the time period of keeper day to draft day. John Wildung aka Gippa was temporarily thrown out of the league by Yahoo for inappropriate language and images. To this day, the rat who reported him is still unknown. Ed Silva took Drew Brees with the first pick. Ryan Lucia set a league record with 11 consecutive wins. The pink dress was worn by Jamie Broyles. Divisional winners were Ryan Lucia and Chris Plant. League was won by its newest member, Matthew Rogers (Pee yo Pants).
2011 - Jamie Broyles (Boarder Patrol) was not invited back into the league and was replaced by new owner Scott McGill (Scotti Too Hotti) via new application process. The new waiver wire system in which a yearly $100 budget is put in place to use on bids for free agents. The draft was held in Hamilton (MA) in Das's Great Room. Ed Silva took Chris Johnson with the first pick. Followed by Michael Vick (Wildung), Calvin Johnson (Lucia), & Phillip Rivers (Broyles). The season loser was Matty Rogers. Divisional winners were Pete Brennan and Nick Horan. The League was won by Christian Plant (D-Generates).
2012 - The official By-Laws of the PPPL were written. A four man council was chosen. Ryan Lucia as Commissioner, James Previte as Vice Commissioner, Nick Horan as Secratary, and Christian Plant as Treasurer. The draft was held in Hamilton (MA) in Das's Great Room where Matty Rogers wore the dress. John Landrebe (Beef) took Aaron Rodgers with the first pick. Followed by Ray Rice (Lucia), LeSean McCoy (Brennan), & Dree Brees (Plant). The season loser was John Wildung. Divisional winners were Ed Silva and Scott McGill. Scott McGill in week 5 scored a league record low of 36 points. The League was won by John Landrebe (Here's The Beef) to become the first two time champion of the league.
2013 - The draft was held in Hamilton (MA) where John Wildung wore the dress. Peter Brennan took Doug Martin with the first pick. Followed by Marshawn Lynch (Wildung), Jamaal Charles (Rogers), & Alfred Morris (Horan). The season loser was Scott McGill . Divisional winners were Ed Silva and Ryan Lucia. The League was won by Ed Silva (Bulldogs).
2014 - The draft was held in Hamilton (MA) where Scott McGill wore the dress. Nick Horan took Jimmy Graham with the first pick. Followed by Demaryius Thomas (Rogers), Dez Bryant (Lucia), & DeMarco Murray (Wildung). The season loser was again Scott McGill . Divisional winners were Ed Silva (3rd in a row) and John Wildung. The League was won by Ryan Lucia (Das Loosh).
2015- John Landrebe (Here's the Beef) resigned from the league after strong internal pressure and was replaced by new owner Paul Sodergren ($1,000 Man) via application process. The draft was held in Las Vegas (NV) to celebrate our 10 year anniversary where Scott McGill wore the pink dress. He was joined by Paul Sodergren in a white virgin dress reserved for new members. Matty Rogers took Marshawn Lynch with the first pick. Followed by Antonio Brown (Previte), Rob Gronkowski (Sodergren), & Odel Beckham (Silva). The season loser was Paul Sodergren. Divisional winners were James Previte and Ryan Lucia. The League was won again by Ryan Lucia (Das Loosh) to become the first back to back champion of the league.
2016- The draft was held at Das Farm in Hamilton (MA) where Paul Sodergren wore the dress and also presented us with a catered brunch. The shot swing was introduced and frequented by Matty Rogers. Ryan Lucia took Julio Jones with the first pick. Followed by Zeke Elliott (Plant), Adrian Peterson (Horan), & LeVeon Bell (Brennan). The season loser was Ryan Lucia. Divisional winners were John Wildung and Matty Rogers. The League was won by James Previte (Umassholes) which was his second cup (2007).
2017- The draft was held at Brennan's rooftop apartment in Eastie (MA) where Ryan Lucia wore the dress. Paul Sodergren took Leonard Fournette with the first pick. Followed by Melvin Gordon (Plant), LeSean McCoy (Silva), & Jordon Howard (Rogers). The league adopted 3pts for all FGs and new keeper format was voted in with a max of 4 keepers and 8 years. The season loser was Matty Rogers. Divisional winners were Scott McGill and Ed Silva. The League was won by first-time winner, Scott McGill (Scotti Too Hotti).
2018- Scott McGill (Scotti Too Hotti) resigned from the league after strong internal pressure and was replaced by new owner Michael Molloy (Crazy Legs) via application process. The draft was held in Chestertown (MD) at Wildung's Mom's Shore house where Matty Rogers wore the dress. Within minutes of arrival Nick Horan pulled a "Horn" and was on the way to the ER by himself after injuring his foot stepping on a stump running down the hill in excitement. Nick Horan took David Johnson with the first pick. Followed by Saquon Barkley (Wildung), Antonio Brown (Brennan), & Devonta Freeman (Rogers). The league adopted an IR spot. The season loser was Nick Horan. Divisional winners were Michael Molloy and James Previte. The League was won by three-time winner, Ryan Lucia (Das Loosh).
2019- The draft was held again in Chestertown (MD) at Wildungs Mom's Shore house minus the pool where Nick Horan wore the dress. Peter Brennan took Julio Jones with the first pick. Followed by Odel Beckham (Wildung), Michael Thomas (Rogers), & James Connor (Horan). The season loser was Ed Silva. Divisional winners were Ryan Lucia and James Previte. The League was won by Christian Plant (D-Generates) which was his second cup.
2020- Because of COVID chaos, the draft was held in three locations Chestertown (MD), Horan's shower (MA), and Sanbornville (NH) where Ed Silva wore the dress. Ed Silva took Christian McCafferty with the first pick. Followed by Zeke Elliot (Lucia), Dalvin Cook (Wildung), & Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Horan). Moves were moved up to 50 because of the uncertainty with the virus/flu. The season loser was again, Ed Silva. Divisional winners were Paul Sodergren and Matty Rogers. James Previte broke the single game scoring record all time with 185.78. The League was won by three-time winner, James Previte (Umassholes).
2021- The draft returned back to Chestertown (MD) at Wildung's Mom's Shore house plus the pool and entire league where Ed Silva wore the dress (again). Nick Horan took Cooper Alvin Kamara with the first pick. Followed by Najee Harris (Brennan), Tyreek Hill (Rogers), & Aaron Jones (Plant). A new PPPL Cup was introduced and an initial ceremony known as "The Pounding of the Kings" was added to the event. The season loser was Nick Horan. Divisional winners were Ryan Lucia (5th time) and Ed Silva (5th time). The League was won by two-time winner, Edward Silva (Bulldogs).
2022- Because of his motherland Germany calling him into active duty, Wildung & the Chestertown location was not available. The draft was held in Sanbornville (NH) at Ed's lake house. Nick Horan wore the dress in his car on the way to NJ and John Wildung drafted in Germany. Ed Silva took Cooper Kupp with the first pick. Followed by Nick Chubb (Horan), Saquon Barkley (Wildung), & Breece Hall (Lucia). The season loser was Michael Molloy. Divisional winners were Nick Horan and Matty Rogers, both going 10-1. Eight (8) of ten (10) teams finished with a losing records. After 7 straight lottery appearance, Nick Horan made the playoffs. The League was won by three-time winner, Christian Plant (D-Generates).
2023- The draft again returned back to Chestertown (MD) at Wildung's Mom's Shore house where Molloy wore the dress and stormed the beaches of the Shanty. Mike Molloy took Justin Jefferson with the first pick. Followed by Bijan Robinson (Lucia), Austin Ekeler (Previte), & Travis Kelce (Plant). Divisional winners were Paul Sodergren and Matty Rogers. Thanks to a 7 game losing steak leaving him a 2-11, James Previte was the season loser. The League was somehow won by first time winner, Mike Molloy (Crazy Legs).
2024- The draft welcome a brand new location at Long Beach Island (NJ) at Wildung's Mom's LBI house aka Bud's Suds where Previte wore the dress and Sod "Painted" the bushes above the ****. Ed Silva took Christian McCaferty with the first pick. Followed by Tyreek Hill (Lucia), Marvin Harrison Jr. (Brennan), & Jonathan Taylor (Horan). Divisional winners were Mike Molloy and Pete Brennan. Thanks to losing 7 of his last 9 games, a 4-9, Ed Silva was the season loser. The season will be remember by the epic trade of Saquon Barkley (Gip) for Josh Downs (Molloy). The League was again won by back to back winner, Mike Molloy (Crazy Legs).
2025- The draft was held in Nashville (TN) to celebrate our 20 year anniversary where Ed Silva wore the dress. James Previte took Jamar Chase with the first pick. Followed by Saquon Barkley (Wildung), Josh Allen (Silva), & Ceedee Lamb (Lucia). Divisional winners were Mike Molloy and James Previte. Thanks to not winning his first game until week 10, Christian Plant was the season loser. The League was by our first ever four (4) time winner, James Previte (Umassholes).
